Signed in 1997 on a cold November day for £4.5 million, it was conceived that the Premier League did not know what was about to hit them. The man, who had travelled the world, had played against the best and beat the best was finally with the sleeping giants of English football. It made such in impact by scoring on his debut, a trademark curling free kick against Everton at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea faithful attached to him and he could do no wrong, especially against Julian Dicks. Important goals for Zola included setting two goals up in two cup finals and then finishing off a season by scoring the only goal in the cup winners final. The little Italian was on fire, as his glittering career comes to an end.
